[/size]and this is mario lopez reporting for extra, entertainment news, and i'm here standing with kenya van buren, the blonde bombshell, at the premiere of morning glory. wow, kenya. you look amazing tonight. mind if i ask you a few questions?
why thank you. it's amazing what a stylist can do for a person. -laughs- no, go right ahead.
now, you started off in the modeling business. was the transition to acting much harder then people would expect it to be?
it wasn't exactly hard, per say. modeling was just something i did basically to get my name out there, while acting has and always will be my passion. i grew up being in the school plays and wishing that one day i would be an actress, but when i got the offer to model, i couldn't pass it up. i didn't care what it took, i just wanted my name out there, y'know?
was modeling fun at least? what do you like more about acting?
oh, of course! it's a blast. i would definitely do it again if i had the chance. it's just fun being able to pose and basically be yourself in front of the camera. i met a lot of great people as well. again, with acting, it's always a blast. i've gained some great friends from the experience. but with acting, you play a character, so i think it's fun being able to be someone your not for the day.
you and your twin sister could be the next mary-kate and ashley olsen. is it fun being in the business with her? it must get kind of annoying after awhile with the amount of times that people mix you up, right?
the next olsen twins? haha, i'm not quite sure about that. but, it is. she's my back bone, so to share this experience with her is just great. i mean, she can relate to things that other people wouldn't exactly understand, so it's good. i wouldn't say that it gets annoying. we've grown up having people mix us up all the time, so it's not exactly a huge deal anymore. we're both doing our different things in the business, so it's fine.
you two both seem really grounded, more then a lot of people in the industry. does it help that you to are alike in that way?
i guess you can say that. i mean, our parents raised us to be good kids and to earn everything on our own. they didn't hand anything over to us so i think that definitely helped. but, it is great having her there for me. but, we're two completely different people so to have that trait in common is always good.
do you ever let the media bother you? i know that you had an altercation with a few paparazzi a few months back..
you know, i just try not to let it bother me. the media is always just looking for a reaction out of you and i try not to let that sort of thing faze me. i'm determined and need to keep my head in the game instead of getting all caught up in the latest scandal. but, everything usually isn't true. yes, i did. i'm fine with the paparazzi and i let them do their thing. it's their job, just like acting is mine. i usually just ignore them, but one guy actually ran into my car and dented it. so, that was basically the last straw for me. -laughs-
well, thank you so much for your time, kenya. it was great talking to you.
-laughs- yes, you as well!
after a very long and stressful day, which had started at five in the morning for her, kamryn elena hendrix was relieved to find out that her shift at the hospital was finally over. thank god. she wasn't sure if she would be able to stand for another minute. she had spent her whole shift walking around, helping out as many people as she could before she was sent up into the er. it felt like she didn't even get a break for the day, and the thirty minute break she did get didn't seem long enough for the twenty seven year old. kammy loved working at the hospital. she loved the fact that she was the one who was able to save several lives a day. it made her happy inside, and by the end of her day, she knew that she did a job well done. she just wasn't the one who could handle all the stress her job gave her. she was an er doctor, meaning that several lives were in her small hands, hands that weren't able to sometimes handle the pressure that her job brought to her. if she made one little mistake, it would be all on her. she loved her job a whole lot, it just worried her a lot of the time. it always tired her out, being on her feet for several hours at a time. but, she tried her best to suck it up, and that's exactly what she did today. with being up since four in the morning and with the short break kamryn had got for the day, she thought she did one hell of a job.
the only plus side of working at five in the morning was that she got off at two. she still had some of the day to enjoy with her husband, and most importantly, her little girl. she despised early shifts though, being more of a night owl then the early bird. getting up before eight in the morning almost killed her. she just loaded up on coffee before heading to work, and once she finally got to the hospital, it finally felt like she was waking up. but, here kamryn was, leaving the hospital and making her way to the employee parking lot, wide awake as ever. while waking up at four in the morning, she had planned going home and taking a nap. but as the day dragged on, kamryn started to feel more and more awake. she was relieved about it too, since she had a lot of things to do today, like picking up her daughter from her parent's house before heading back home to tidy up. her parents absolutely adored her little girl, celeste. they offered to babysit her every chance they had. kamryn usually brought celeste over to their house whenever she got the early shifts. her mother had sleeping problems and would sleep for a good four hours every night, then nap during the late afternoon, so she was always up when kamryn was heading to work. after kamryn got into her car, she quickly put her keys into the ignition, before pulling out of the parking lot and into the miami traffic, heading in the direction of her adoptive parent's house.
it took kamryn a good fifteen minutes to get to her parents house, and couldn't help but grin when she spotted celeste playing in the front yard with her grandma. kamryn shut off her car, before getting out and walking around the front. celeste ran at her, shouting mommy several times, before kamryn bent down and picked her up, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "how's my baby girl?" she questioned her two year old daughter, before turning to her mother. "was she good?" her mother rolled her eyes and explained to her how celeste was always good with her, then went on to tell her about all the funny things she had done throughout the day, which eventually brought a smile onto kamryn's face. after a few minutes of chatting, kamryn walked back over to her car and opened the back seat door, placing celeste in the car seat. kamryn started to buckle celeste up, before celeste pushed her hands away from the car seat. "i do it!" she shouted out, which only made a small laugh escape kamryn's lips. "okay, okay. you do it." kamryn put on hand on her hip as she watched her daughter try to buckle herself in. after several minutes of celeste trying her best, she finally did it, kinda. "good job!" kamryn spoke, before she quickly leaned forward and tighten everything up. she closed the door, waved goodbye to her mother, and then got back into her car, starting it up again before driving away.
kamryn hated traffic. it had to be the one thing she hated the most out of everything. people were just so angry and in such a hurry to get to the place that they were driving to that they really had no sense of what they were doing, which eventually made them drive like complete idiots. kamryn always tried to keep her cool though. she was calm and completely patient. quite frankly, she didn't care if it took her an extra ten minutes to get to her destination, which was her house in this case. as long as she got there safe, then that's all that really mattered to her. kamryn pulled into their driveway and parked her car outside the garage. celeste was already trying to get out of her car seat, trying to undo everything she did to buckle herself in there. kamryn giggled as she walked over to her side and helped her out. celeste crawled out of the car, before hurrying to the front door. with a twist of her small hands, she opened the door and rushed in, kamryn slowly following in behind her, her purse draped over her shoulder. "daddy!" celeste called out, before heading into the kitchen. kamryn didn't even check to see if kaelan's car was in the garage or not, so she was unaware if he was actually home or not. as she slipped off her shoes, she gazed around the somewhat clean house. "hello?" she called out, thinking that kaelan would appear from some room. where there was no sign, she followed her daughter into the kitchen. celeste was already climbing into her chair at the table, awaiting for her snack her mother always gave her when she got home from her grandma's - strawberry yogurt. celeste seemed to have an obsession with it and would ask for it every time she could. kamryn placed her purse down on the marble counter tops, before she dished out some yogurt that she took out from their fridge, before grabbing a spoon and placing it down in front of celeste. "try not get it everywhere this time. i don't feel like cleaning up yogurt again today, alright?" celeste just giggled in response, before she took a big spoonful of her strawberry yogurt and shoved it in her mouth.
