so you got into acting through basketball right?

yeah i actually never even thought about it before. it was always about basketball with me. i played ball in high school and there were auditions for a show called forgotten anthem. i don't know if you've seen it, but it was about a high school in boston and it focused mainly on a basketball team. i figured it couldn't hurt to try and ultimately i got the part for it

so you were on the show for three seasons before moving onto movies? how big of a transition was that?

yeah three seasons. to be honest, it wasn't that much of a transition. it wasn't nearly as big of a jump as it was when i got into acting in the first place. this time i was basically doing the same thing. the only difference was the amount of shooting that had to be done. my first movie took a few months to shoot, whereas the show took a lot longer.

your first movie was the departed, a movie that won best picture, how was that experience?

in all honesty, it was incredible. i got to work with a great director and a great cast. i couldn't have been luckier for that to be my first movie.

was it true the director hadn't even heard of you before hand?

ha yeah, not many people had. like i said, forgotten anthem was the only show i had been on. they held auditions for the departed and obviously i took a chance. they were looking for someone with an authentic boston accent, or someone who could imitate it with ease.

and now you've just completed remember me with kenya van buren. how was working with her?

i had so much fun doing that movie with her. she's an amazing actress and really made it easy for me because it she made it all seem so believable. i definitely want to do another movie with her at some point.

so any truth to the rumors about the two of you?

haha i knew that was going to come up. but nope, we are just really good friends. she's a great person, and she's fun to be around, but we are both single. well last time i heard she was ha
